Performance in a carbon-plated racing shoe does not come from the plate alone; plate shape, foam, rocker geometry, stack height, and outsole work together. Laboratory and field evidence can show running-economy benefits for some runners, but the gain varies by person, pace, and model. A carbon plate therefore does not automatically make every runner faster.
