Curry-Spiced Turkey Burgers with Mango Yogurt Sauce

High-protein turkey burgers infused with curry spices, topped with a tangy mango yogurt sauce. Perfect for post-workout recovery.

This recipe is designed to provide the protein and energy your muscles need after an intense workout. Curry spices support metabolism, while the mango yogurt sauce offers natural sugars and probiotics to speed recovery.

Ingredients: 500g ground turkey, 1 grated onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tbsp curry powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp paprika, salt and pepper, 1 tbsp olive oil. Sauce: 1 ripe mango (diced), 2 tbsp Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp honey. For serving: 4 whole-wheat burger buns, arugula leaves.

Preparation: Mix ground turkey with onion, garlic, and spices. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side (internal temp 74°C). For sauce, blend mango, yogurt, lemon juice, and honey until smooth. Lightly toast buns, layer with arugula, patty, and sauce.

Athlete note: Turkey is a lean protein source; each burger provides about 30g protein. Curry and turmeric offer anti-inflammatory benefits. Natural sugars from mango help replenish glycogen stores.

Storage/serving/swap suggestion: Store cooked patties in the fridge for up to 3 days. Sauce keeps separately for 2 days. Substitute ground chicken for turkey, or skip the bun and serve in lettuce wraps for a lower-carb option.
